Cinema 4D Random Colour Viewport Script
Have you ever used Blender's random colour feature and wished you could use it in Cinema 4D? I know I have! Wait no longer because Xancxx is here to save the day! With this script, you can easily replicate the random colour effect inside Cinema 4D with a click of a button!
The main purpose of this script is to defer multiple objects in a scene when working, and when playblasting blackouts/previz, it helps break apart geometry to look more appealing.
Known Issues:
•Materials will get applied to your cameras, nulls, lights, etc. (if you keep these things clean and organized its easy to remove these.)
Features:
• Will detect empty Material tags and fill them with a randomized colour
• Ctrl+Z and redo to reroll random colours
Install:
(I will provide pictures for further guidance)
- you can save the file anywhere, but preferably I would make a folder in your user Cinema 4D plugin folder, name it "Random Colour Viewport Script", and drop the Python file there.
- Next, open up Cinema 4D, head over to the "Script" tab, click file>import script and load our Python file,
- This will load our script, then once you press execute, it applies the effect!
- After pressing execute, I would Ctrl+Z to undo and use "Shift+C" to look up "Random_Colour_Script_Xancxx". This makes it super easy and quick to access.
